Dear Bloggy Blog, I did not abandon you. Here's whats been going on, and then we'll get back to the food.
In September Brian and I took two trips. One to Broken Arrow, Tulsa to see our sweet friends, Charlie and Kristine. We had a sweet little 3 day Labor Day weekend including all the hamburgers and tres leches cake that you would properly imagine on that weekend. We also had some killer pizza from their favorite joint.
Then later in the month we went to Vegas for a business trip Brian had to take (Insert Sidekick here). We had a lot of trouble finding food in between the bars and casinos. Stayed at the Flamingo. I had a bran muffin, fruit, and tea for most every breakfast, except the morning I splurged on crepes with blueberries. Holy Cow that was good. But admittedly those bran muffins were pretty good too. We also ate at Serendipity. I had a really yummo open faced sandwich with apples and turkey and brie cheese and it was freakin awesome. Brian had a very gourmet hot dog, and we celebrated a city we werent likely to come back to with a frozen hot chocolate. I had a hamburger for lunch one day, and pizza another. The burger was top notch, the pizza, meh, wasnt bad. Lets see... I got really sauced in a mall inside a hotel which are everywhere, I had to escape this lady selling these amazing dress/skirt things, and I had a really good time despite the fact that Brian worked the whole time. Oh and the last night there I had a lamb sandwich that probably would have been awesome, but the service sucked so bad, I dont remember enjoying the meal.
October was good. We enjoyed Brian's birthday in Deep Elum with some really awesome burgers.
Hop skip and jump to November. We went to my Mom's for my birthday, and she made my favorite, chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes with a awesome birthday cake called Fuzzy Navel Dream.
While this sounds like a holiday food laden 4 months, it wasnt. I actually got down to 150lbs during this time, making steady strides nearly every two weeks.
So In mid-November, I started NEEDING more calories. It was so weird. I was hungry, and tired and just not myself, until I found out. I. Am. Pregnant.
So, food since then. Is pretty much what ever I can eat. I did not have any morning sickness, just a need for a meaty breakfast, and a small snack before lunch.
Things I have pretty much hated from the start: The smell of bacon cooking, and then having to eat it. My beloved greek yogurt has become too thick for me and gags me, so that love affair is over for a while.
Things I love, and wish for every meal. Ice cream sandwiches, and Organic brand called Julie's makes the one I cant get enough of (but have limited myself to one aday, ecxcept for the day I discovered them, and I had 2 that day). Guacamole, on sandwiches, with chips, on a salad, as a dip for anything. Cheese. Everything should be cheesey. Also I was way into Cranberry juice before I found out, but once I found out, the only thing to drink was apple juice.
So there, that's my news. I'll get back to posting my food. and since my energy is coming back and back and back, I'll get back to my walking routine that I started this time last year, so me and baby dont swell up to 200 lbs, because I can not go back down that road. Ever.
